Check the fan swith that fits in the cooling system and trips the relay.

I'm kind'a new at this were would I look for the switch

Rick Parker 08-23-2003 08:30 PM

It could be screwed into a fitting in a radiator tank, or into the intake manifold near the top radiator hose/thermostat housing. Or it could be in the lower radiador hose. Follow the wires from the fan to the relay(?) and then see where the other wires that attach to the relay go, they should be attached to the thermo fan switch in question. Ocasionally there is no thermo fan switch at all and the fan is wired direct, ie: to be on when the key is switched on.

Bingo that how my fan was working turn the key and you could hear it were do I go from there

With the key on check for 12 volts at the fan, If you have voltage you may have a bad motor. If no voltage go back to power source/fuse. Check for power there. Check fuse, Process of elimination. If you have power at the fuse follow circuit to the fan continuing to check for voltage.
