Pictures from Carmel CA, August 2003
Travelled out to the sunny Left Coast to celebrate the last leg of the Ford 100th Anniversary. Drove from San Francisco down to LA, then back up to Monterey and Carmel. Ten days of perfect weather, and a car nut's dream fantasy come true everywhere you looked in or near Monterey and Carmel. Every restaurant parking lot was full of Ferraris, Mustangs, Cobras, and Bugattis.
Here are some highlights: http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...70dscn4930.jpg http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...70dscn4963.jpg http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...10170gt108.jpg http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...70dscn4722.jpg regards, Jeff |
Oh...my...GOD!!!
The weather...the cars...the scenery... Did you have to wear a blazer and a tie to get in? :D Did you drive out there in your Cobra? |
Lowell:
They confiscate all of the Levis 501's at the state border. Out here the garage dress is now Hagger slacks with cuffs (for small screws & nuts) or suit & tie for waxing, polishing or detail work. A Blazer is a means of keeping your white shirt clean. As a means of helping the depleated state budget our current Emporur has initiated a program to cut up the conficated denim into shop rags and sell them back at reduced rates. This Sunshine cost $$$$$$$$$$$ Rick |
AAAAARRRRRRGGGGHHHHH
Knew there had to be a catch somewhere! |
Cobrajeff,
Really nice work. Is the reddish pink car a Chrysler Ghia, or something like that? TT |

Wanna get rid of the front end?

I managed to sneak in with my "Team Shelby" flame shirt that I got at DVSF II. Some of the tweed blazer chaps got a real charge out of it.
The car with the lady in red was a Chrysler Dual Ghia. I wasn't aware that there were any of them left - it was pretty sharp. Some pretty wild outfits out there.... http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...70dscn4951.jpg this was one of my favorites..... http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...70dscn4921.jpg then in Carmel, we found the Caped Crusader guarding the streets......... http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...70dscn5074.jpg then there was also this gigantic toy car cruising Carmel, too (maybe they were the "bad guys" Batman and Catwoman were looking for?)..... http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...70dscn4899.jpg regards, Jeff |
Hi.
Hey Jeff,
it was a pleasure running in to you and meeting you at Laguna Seca. Wasn't that gigantic car just crazy looking? I saw it sittin in their driveway in Carmel that weekend, and it was like a cartoon or something. Looks like you had a chance to see some neat things while you were there... I love the GT40 pics at Pebble. What a weekend for car people. We took a drive late Sunday down the coast in the Cobras, and got sandwiched between multiple Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Maseratis and other exotics. That was very cool. Starting with Concorso on Friday and forward through the weekend was just incredible. See Ya next year if you make it out again. :) |
Ditto Jeff--good meeting you. And as Duane says--what a glorious weekend of cars.
