Tunnel Port Dyno Tuning
Ok guys, next week my TP goes on the dyno. I'm really curious as to what kind of HP it's gonna make. Have any of you TP guys gone this route and if so, how well did they do at keeping your car cool ? Mine always runs between 180 and 200 so I'm a bit concerned about it. I basically have a stock TP except for the cam .579/.605, MSD ignition and Billet Dist.. I'm running a race prepped Holley 780 DP. Other than those minor things, it's all stock. What do you guys think it's gonna pull ???

Doesn't matter what the actual HP and torque are, just multiply by whatever "correction factor" makes it the HP you want and expect. That is what many people do.
300 hp is enough in a cobra, I like more, but I am crazy |
Most shops have a portable, high-volume cooling fan that forces air through your radiator while the car is on the dyno.
A guess? 400 RWHP. Let us know and good luck. |
Hmmmmm
400 RWHP...that would be awesome, I'm sold....lol

My TP Stroker came in at 672 (@5800 rpm) and 715 ft/lbs (@4000rpm). H & M X-11 cam, dual quad offy TP manifold, 600 holleys. This was on 100LL fuel. If I was to do it again, I would have been happy with the 500hp mark with pump gas for the practicality and reliability.
Good luck with yours. |
