GR

You are not far off - over here we pay around $5.70 a gallon - but who cares if you are driving a Cobra. We have been paying these prices for so long that you just get used to it.

When I lived in the US in the mid 90's gas was only $1 per gallon so obviously you have had a much higher rate of increase than we have.

At that time people would ask me if I was worried about the gas mileage on the V12 Jaguar I had. I would answer that if you translated it back to European prices it did 54 to the gallon!

$2.07 per gallon for Sunoco 94 here in Connecticut.. I hope it goes to $4.00 so that we can clear some of this traffic. By the way, my other 2 cars get great mileage! On the highway even the Cobra is not too bad.

Will you guys quit whining about gas prices please?

Like Pderouss says - nearer $6 a gallon here in the UK, you, my US friends, have a long way to go to beat that.

Any long journeys in my Cobra and I actually have to stop and think about how much it will cost me in gas, and let me tell you boys, at 15mpg tops, the £££'s mount up pretty quick for a 2 or 300 mile run.

A telemarketer from Dallas, Texas told me that gas was $1.75 in Texas!

c_forshaw 09-02-2003 06:00 PM

Reg for $1.55 in Dallas

I just filled up my Suburban with Regular Unleaded for $1.55. These prices are killing me!

Ok --bite me you Texas whaoo's:rolleyes:

Rick Bagley 09-02-2003 07:35 PM

Here in the Blue Grass State it's 1.84 for 93 octane, Sunoco 112 octane leaded is 3.95.
Goes up and down with the holidays, up before Labor day and down a little after. Go figure!

Dayum! I was feeling bad about fillin' up the Powerstroke with $55.00 this morning. I guess $1.38 per gallon ain't bad. He!!, it's cheaper than sweet tea! Probably cheaper than $.30 per gallon diesel was in 1970, adjusting for inflation, that is.
Will a Powerstroke fit in a Kirkham? Has anybody done the "diesel Cobra" thing yet?

surfer44 09-02-2003 08:52 PM

In Vegas (AT COSTCO) 87 octane was $1.87 and 91 was $2.07. Glad my Vett gets 28 MPG. My 428 is still a long way from using anything, but who cares "it's a toy".

Most people pay more for bottled water than gas. Ain't that something? BTW, I wouldn't be caught dead purchasing bottled water %/

To repeat what I have said on another (earlier) post

The reason that Brits pay more for gas is almost solely TAXES. The reason that gas is going up now in the west is that our "masters" have decided it's time to crack down on us, and make a handy profit two.

I do LOVE the idea of a crude oil/gas still ! tallyho, and Yahoo 'ol chap!

Has anyone else run across this?
