Spark plug choice

I'm in the process of building a 331 stroket for my Cobra.
It has a compression ratio of 9:1 (for when I can afford a supercharger !) and world windsor SR heads in Aluminium.
I have an MSA 6AL ignition Edelbrock inlet manifold and performer plus cam and a 600cfm Holley.
What plugs should I be using?
Will it change when I put on a supercharger?
Thanks guys

Simon

Simon,

Different people have had good luck with different plugs, but the main concensus is stay away from the platinum ones. I run a Jacobs Pro Street ignition and I have used Champion, Autocraft, and Motorcraft. I have the best luck and the motor puts out more power with the Ford Motorcraft plugs. As for the supercharger, I can't give you any suggestions there. Some of the guy's running them whould be able to help you in that area. You might play with various heat ranges and plug gaps also. I wound up getting the best results with a gap of .049.

Plugs

George Anderson recommended Accel #416 plugs for my FE and I have been completly satisfied. I like them better than Champions or Autolight. I haven't tried Motorcraft yet.

Anything but Champions.

Just went down this same path a couple of weeks ago when I did the last tuneup; after posting a forum here and talking to my engine builder and others, I ended up with Autolites.

I was running Champions, with no real problems... just thought that I might upgrade to one of the platinum-style plugs. I was steered back to a standard plug.

I also run the MSD 6AL box, but run the plug gaps smaller than the MSD manual calls for. I get a pretty good idle and crisp response on the highway at 0.045" gap... any larger and it seems to stumble a bit at speed.

My compression is about 10:1

Dan I am running the same gap as you and that seems to work well with my engine and MSD 6AL.

Why not platinum? I thought they were the best.

Plugs

My engine builder only allows NGK, period.
Don't know why..Don't care...I just use them and they work great
