I like NAPA...they don't cater to the rider bozo's. Just parts. But they (at least the one near me) doesn't carry a large inventory...takes a day for orders.

Whip!!!

Yaw from Pee-biddie? Cool! Assume you're going the FFR route. Good luck.

I enjoy going to PEP BOYS to get parts and spending the afternoon with a non-english speaking parts counterman that can't get you the part because a '66 Cobra isn't in the computer.
Doesn't matter if you have the part number of the Autolite sparkplugs written down.
Doesn't matter if you can see the plugs you want from where you are standing.
If he can't find that Cobra with the 392 stroker in the computer ,he won't reach behind him to take the plugs off the shelf.
Nothing like having to go to the top guy in charge of the store just to get a lousy set of plugs. If your lucky.

That is exactly why I DID NOT include Pep Boys. One near me, sae experience. Eventhe "manaer" couldn't find a throttle return spring hanginon the display in the"Carb/Manifold' section. Kept wanting to look it up in the comput first. Started going to AUto Zone further away. Finally "my" ANd 9 oher PEp Boys just shut down: wonder why? cb

I find that using my local NAPA store has benefits. The new owner has started bringing in performance products like Mr. Gasket, TCI, and other aftermarket manuals to order from. Nice thing about a small town in the middle of Wyoming. They really want my business. Of course it doesn't hurt that most of my parts are expensive!!!

The Pep Boys store in Reseda is better than that. I always take my questionable batteries there because their diagnostic testor works so well.

They are very helpful with things behind the counter and have even invited me to go in the back to look for a radiator hose or other parts to fit. I guess we have more custom cars here.

I don't like their electrical parts. The alternators and starters just don't last very long. Even with a "lifetime warrenty" it's a pain to keep replacing the things. They sell really cheap tires, too.

Last time I went to get plugs, I told them about the Brodix heads and started describing the reach and heat range. They just gave me all the spark plug catalogs and asked me to tell them what I wanted. I like the NGKs with three electrodes and got a set for $2 each.

The stores here have miles of stuff for rice rockets and all kinds of lights. It's just like browsing through a JC Witney Catalog in real life.

My favorite parts supplier is eBay. You just cannot beat the prices. If I need something quick, I go to PAW.

Paul
