Lynn Park in ICU but Okay

Lynn Park had an angioplasty and is recovering in ICU. He is scheduled to come home on Monday. The ICU will not accept phone calls, letters, flowers or visitors. I encourage everyone not to call Susie and overwhelm her now because of the sensitive situation but wait until he is home and more comfartable before doing so. Meanwhile we can all pray together for his speedy recovery. I am told he will be fine, so that's the good news.

Lynn Park is a fabulous guy. He always has time to answer any and all questions asked of him of Cobras. It's diffcult to say how many Cobras he has at any given time because he not only buys and sells and restores them but races them, too. All I know is that he owns quite a few of them, and they're all historical or valuable. His knowledge on authenticity is beyond anybody else' including Carroll himself. Lynn was responsible for putting together the Cobras at the Petersen Automotive Museum clebrating Carroll's 8oth B'Day this past June with 118 real Cobras. I see him at least once a month and just talked to him last week so this is a real shocker.

The good news is he's recovering well. The bad news is that he won't be driving his Cobra for a while. At least Lynn will still be around and for that we should thank the Lord.

Shin,

If possible, please pass on to Mr. Parks the well wishes from his fellow cobra enthusiasts. I've only met him once, but it only took that moment to know he is a helluva good guy. I'm sure I speak for hundreds of others.

PatBuckley 10-07-2003 06:50 AM

Agreed.

Can someone close-in get a postal or e-mail address to send get-well wishes?

Edley Rondinone 10-07-2003 06:07 PM

Talked to Lynn at 5:10 PM Tuesday evening. He is out of ICU, and in a regular room. Should be out in a few days. He is in good spirits! You can send email to: Mrcobra@earthlink.net. His wife checks his site fairly regularly.

Visited Lynn Park at the Hospital today: He is feeling much better, the pain is subsiding, and he figures to be out of the hospital in a day or two! He says thanks to all who have left messages, e-mails, and visits!

Jamo 10-08-2003 06:37 PM

That is excellent news. Thanks Shin for letting us know, and thank you Edley for the update.;)

I also talked with Lynn today and as Edley says, he's coming home soon. He is overwhelmed with the well wishes he's gotten so far. His message for all of us is that if you feel any pain in your chest, go see a doctor immediately, because you need a tune up and you can prevent a serious teminal situation before its too late. I say Amen to that.

Wow - that is a shocker. Lynn has always treated me like an old friend. He just bought my Cobra tires for me from Shelby because he gets a discount, and had them mounted & balanced to boot. He loves to share his cars, and has told me a number of times to visit his garage.
His COCOA events at Willow Springs are a blast, the next one coming up at the end of the month. I sure hope he feels well enough by then to attend. Knowing him, I think I already know that answer.
I have to assume this was a sudden turn of events. The guy has about 3% body fat & always looks depressingly fit.
Just goes to show you that the ticker can get clogged up even in the best of us.
Thanks for the heads up. I'll have to give him a jingle next week.
