Snakeyes: I don't know if there was an "official" recall on the cast spinners, or not. I just know of a few SPF owners in my area that had problems with them and Superformance ended up replacing their cast spinners with forged "under warranty" for N/C. Maybe someone here can shed some light on this, or you may want to check with your nearest SPF dealer.
I just know that whenever I have looked at a car that was for sale, and has a number "around" the time of the change (I think in the low 1000's) I ask if they have Trigo's or WAW's. If it's WAW's, I ask if they had the spinners changed. If they haven't, then in my mind I add a few hundred bucks to the price of their car because I know that's something I would have to change if I purchased it! (unless the 2nd / 3rd owner can have it done "under warranty as well??)
Actually, YOUR car #1049 may be the 1st to have WAW's! Because I spoke with the owner of #1048 and he says he has Trigo's!

SNAKEYES 10-24-2003 01:18 PM

Terry

so i'm the lucky one with the WAW's first...actually, i remember Bob also mentioning that #1049 was the first one he had seen with the new Bilstein, non adjustable shock

Bob reasssured me that they were an improvement over the adsjustable shock and i have been very happy with them so far...i may upgrade to the Olthoff shock at some point in the future

have upgraded to the new Olthoff rear sway-bar and it is a big improvement over the stock sway-bar without compromising ride comfort

good luck in your search...the SPF cobra is a great product

Snakeyes: I take it back. Agro1 has car #940 and he says he has the WAW's as well. I'm wondering if the guy I spoke to with car #1048 knows what kind of rims he has. He's the 2nd owner, and I think he "assumes" his rims are Trigo's (the guy runs a car dealership and the car is on his showroom). He's checking again to see if he has the drop down fuse box or not (after I told him where to look). Earlier, he told me he didn't think the car had it. I'll wait to see if he can find it!**)
Oh well, back to the drawing board on what car # these upgrades began. Thought I had a couple figured out.....oh well.

psssst, wanna buy a car

Heck Terry, I'll sell you my car. Let me know if you are interested. Seriously!!!

Brian

Dan Semko 10-24-2003 05:00 PM

Brian,
why would Terry want to buy your car when he could buy mine?:D I hear that YOU are interested in an aluminum CSX....hey, I just happen to have one of those too, want to deal?;)

bnewell 10-24-2003 05:03 PM

Dan, you've sparked my interest.........lets hear the deal!!!! Word sure travels fast, I only mentioned it to one person and that was just yesterday.

Brian

Dan Semko 10-24-2003 06:08 PM

Here you go Brian,
Pay careful attention to the detailed, itemized listing on the engine build and NOS parts. If you want a car that no one in Ohio can duplicate, this is it!;)

bnewell 10-24-2003 08:22 PM

Dan, thanks....but I'll pass. Better take the high bid on this unit. For that kinda cash I think I will keep my SPF and be happy.

Brian

p.s. 99.9% of the people in this country don't know the difference and I don't give a sh!t about the .1% of them.

Caustic_Cobra 10-24-2003 08:23 PM

You mentioned in your ebay listing that the car had typical aluminum flaws. What might those flaws be?

bnewell 10-24-2003 08:24 PM

Sorry, but I forgot to mention that it will make someone an awesome car.........just not me.

Brian

Dan Semko 10-24-2003 08:30 PM

The car is hand formed and as with all aluminum cars, there are small alloy flaws, stretched areas, pores etc that are present upon close inspection. Do they deter from the raw nature of the beast, no not at all, in fact the reason that I chose a bare metal brushed finish was two fold.
1. I wanted something stunning and unusual revealing the composition of the body.
2. The body could be painted in the future with minor prep work.
There isn't a drop of mud on the car and it's easy to inspect.;)

I have two interested Mercedes dealers that want to trade AMG SL55's. There's another that has a new AMG SL600 twin turbo that I'm REALLY trying to get interested and educated but it's going to take some "Turkish intervention" to get that deal nailed down!:D

Caustic_Cobra 10-24-2003 08:49 PM

Hey, thanks for informing me. Learning as I go.

Dan Semko 10-24-2003 09:06 PM

My pleasure.
All cobras are nice and meet a certain individual's taste. The rubbish about one is better than the other is needless diatribe and testosterone motivated just as is the functional use of the car. If you enjoy cruising, autocrossing or tracking, great but belittling anyone for not enjoying your preference is myopic. The real education comes from asking the owners why they enjoy their particular car and why they enjoy doing whatever with it. There's a vast wealth of experience and knowledge available.

Terry, you can get race-grade aircraft toggle switches from about any race parts place. A few minutes to wire up.

Nifty looking, if i do say so myself.

TerrysSPF 10-24-2003 10:07 PM

Brian: I DO like Titanium / black! -Don't tell me you need a car with more power already!?

Dan: I checked out your car on Ebay (nice!), and did the little "Monthly payment estimate" that they have there. .....It didn't look good for me.

Don't forget to charge extra because it's a "TURK". (Actually, I thought it was his car when I first saw it).

Say, I got my Shelby sales package in the mail today! Got all the price break downs and all the "extras" they offer for the new SA roller. Pretty good stuff. I'm supposed to call them tomorrow and chat some more. Update later!

Hal: when I get a car, that's the 1st thing I'm putting on it (toggle switch). Nice touch, if you ask me!
