So Close I Can Taste It!
Just got a call from my wife. She picked up the mail today, and lo and behold I received my title and vin plate from the PA DMV! Now all I need is insurance and then I can get a plate and get on the road. This whole process has been great, and now I'm so close...
BTW, it took exactly 4 weeks to get the title from the state as a specially constructed vehicle. The state tells you up front to exepct 4-6 weeks for the process. Apparently everything was in order with the documentation, inspection, and photos cause I didn;t get any questions from the state. Thanks to everyone that provided me with useful tips on where to not go wrong. Greg |
Greg
Get ready, the real fun is about to begin. Wayne |
Greg,
Great news! :) Hope you get a chance to put some miles on it before it gets too cold. |
As I am one who is making plans for a ERA 289 FIA for my garage also, I just have to ask... What does the wait taste like?
You see, I am living vicariously through you ever since you posted those beautiful picture a little over a month ago...:MECOOL: I'm happy for you...and jealous -John: |
The wait really depends on timing & what you order. My wait was less than I expected but I ordered just a kit with a few extras. In the end it is worth it no matter what stage you get. ERA makes a great car. I am enjoying mine even though it won't be driveable any time soon. To be honest it took me 3 yrs to get to where I could budget an ERA FIA. That was much more painfull than waiting for ERA to build it. Just knowing that the car was within my grasp was settling:)
Congrats Greg!!!!! I expect you will drive out here & take me for a ride soon?:JEKYLHYDE |
John,
The wait to get the car from ERA was what I expected. What took me longer was my part. No one else's fault but my own. I kept the build process low key so it would not be another point of stress in my life. 3 years from when I picked up the car from ERA till I got it titled. I am so anxious to get insurance and a tag so I can drive it on the road... well I can't describe how anxious I am. Everytime a picture of the car comes up on my screensaver I say to myself, hey that's a really cool car. It's almost surreal. Hyde, I'd love to drive cross country some day. Maybe when I retire in another decade or so. Take care. |
Greg,
I'm not sure exactly where Bechtelsville is, but I'm starting a local PA/DE/south Jersey club. Hope to have our first meeting in January. Planning for Cobra Revolution II will begin then. Send me your info and I'll keep you posted. Steve |
Steve,
I'll e-mail you. I'm only about 30-40 minutes form you. Bectelsville is just north of Boyertown, which is just north of Posttstown on Rt. 100. Thanks. |
