The new Turk / Semko Shelby soft top...
I noticed that CSX4148 is for sale again on Ebay. Someone has pulled out all stops in their attempts to sell it this time. How about the new design soft top?!?!? :3DSMILE:

...the "Lawrence or Arabia" look.
:p |
Hey
I'm in the market. What colours do they come in. Bernie Bernie Knight Mt. Gambier South Australia |
Man, no wonder you never see one of the Shelbys with their top on.

Looks like a precursor to a "4 seater" Cobra. Use the Le Mans trunk to create a rumble seat.
|
Hey,
When you're cranially challenged with little coverage, that soft top option comes in handy. I haven't solved the lofting problems with it at speed, but it works well when deployed as a parachute. The listing that you see on ebay is by a dealer that's trying to trade a new SL55 AMG 493 hp. for the cobra. He was so enthusiastic about the cobra that he asked to list it on his persoanal website AND on ebay free. Now there's a gentleman that appreciates cobras and knows how to treat a customer! |
Is that the correct stripe width on that top?In other words is it "real"?
|
This is a good study of how NOT to do automotive photography.
TURK |
It's a BETTER study on how to utilize the moderators abilities and gain attention!;) For a GM car guy, you've never done that, right?
The stripe is period correct and tastefully regarded as "an Evan adornment". Notice the hood scoop is still black. The previous pyromaniac owner had ADS and problems adjusting the dual quads. We affectionately regard him as the "Fire Marshal" of Gasholes. I did question why the industrial size marshmellow bag was included in the deal until I tried to "fire" it up!:D I think the previous owner regards himself as the Turkish version of an Arabian Prince, thus the tent was appropriate. |
Dan,
Who would buy a new CSX Aluminum Cobra with an old, heavy iron engine ???????????????:3DSMILE: I thought only Turk is crazy of iron engines ? Greetings, Walter |
SL55 AMG..... Very nice. I've read countless articles about them, and nobody has anything bad to say about them. Good luck with the trade!
|
Walter,
Who would buy not only an NOS iron block but also have a bare, brushed aluminum cobra ? Total insanity......BTW you don't own a new SL55 AMG do you?;) |
Wait, where's the side screens?
|
In back of the hot tub which was the 7734 option!
|
dan, how many rivets and are they correctly placed ? and will that 427 fit in the Mercedes ? bill
|
Dan - have you seen the Gumball online video with the Ruf Turbo R Porsche and the SL55? 200mph on the interstate **)
Bet CSX4148 couldn't do that..... |
750 hp, 200 mph ? certainly NOT with that Omar Tent and Awning top installed ! LOL. Bill
|
Bill,
Evan "The REAL 1" sent me the rivet schematic, so I'm positive they are misplaced. The supercharger on the SL55 pumps the ponies to 493 with over 510 ft. lbs of torque AND I understand that it doesn't mark it's area when it's parked. I have to get a few extra modifications and be ready to sand bag that Turkish guy with the Eurospec'd 930 Turbo!;) |
Oh contrare amigos,
This is a REAL Shelby, not one of those fiberglass "fakeydos" according to Mr. Harris, so I'm confident it would hold it's own.....until. The RUF turbo is a mean machine! It would interesting to see a comparison between a RUF and the non sequential twin turbo AWD. |
My money's on the RUF.....
