Over seas, anti-seize help needed
Ron61 and I have been trying to track-down a supplier of an excellent anti-seize paste once listed in the Griot's catalog as pn. 20237. Griot's tells us it is no longer available, but was produced by a German manufacturer called "Weidlig".It is a cermic/synthetic paste. If any of our friends across the pond have a line on this, we would appreciate any help possible.
Thanks from Ron and Chas. |
here's their website:
http://www.weicon.de/ if I could be of further help, like talking to them or getting and sending you the stuff, let me know. |
Chas,
Well you got a much better response than I did. I went to the link that Wild One provided and looked at their stuff. My German has gotten very poor in the past 25 years but I think I may have figured out which one it is. Why don't you take a look and see if it matches what you have. I also sent Wild One an e-mail requestiong his help. Hope that was ok with you since it is your post and I am not trying to hi-jack it. And Wild One, thanks for the answer and offer to help. What I got to my post yesterday was worthless. Ron **) :JEKYLHYDE |
Ron,
Very glad to get a response. Thank you Mr. Wild Thing. I clicked on the English flag and found the exact container Griot's sent, only with their label. It's the small plastic jar right in front of the display. That's the stuff. Good luck on the ordering end. Hope David Kirkham is seeing this. |
Chas,
Which display? I looked at two of them and one just had more in it than the other I think. I couldn't bring out just one jar to get a number off of it. Thanks, Ron |
Hi ron, got your email. Btw, I discovered that there was no personal name in my profile, only the nick; changed that. Will call them on monday and check out if there is another american dealer or if they ship overseas; if not, I'll try to get and send it.
|
Ron,
It's in the very front of the smaller display. It's a white plastic jar. I can't make out a number either. Hope our friend Gernod has better luck. A phone call to their tech dept. would pin it down. Good luck. |
Chas,
I will wait until we hear from Gernod. Since I have retired and have to pay for those out of coutry calls I don't make any more than I have to. As soon as he finds out if they have an outlet here or not I will decide what to do to try and get some. If I have to ask him to send me some do you want some too? Ron :) |
Ron,
I'm ok for quite awhile but other buddies may want to add supply. Please keep me posted. |
Contact your yellow pages and look for a company by name of FASTENAL. They have 1,200 hundred stores nationwide. They have anti-sieze in stick form.
|
I just had a call from Weicon. In the moment, they have no distribution partner in the states. The nearest one is in Canada, here is the adress:
Distribution Technologies Inc. 1721 Bishop Street, Unit 6 Cambridge, Ontario N1T 1N5 Phone: 001 / 519 622 6465 Fax: 001 / 519 622 4142 If I can be of further help, let me know. |
Gernod,
Thanks for the information. Now if I can just figure out what the number of the stuff Chas used I am ok. Cal, I can't find any company by the name of FASTENAL listed in our yellow pages. But up here in the sticks that really isn't to amazing. I will have one of the guys in the BACC take a look in the books down there. Thanks, Ron:) |
Ron:
There is one in Redding, Ca. Their number is 530-226-9074. They have the Permatex stick type. |
Fastenal also has grade 8 fasteners for a great price. I got several items from them that were better than spec. for my applications.
Worst case, use their internet address and mail order the stuff. Just my $0.02 :3DSMILE: |
Another type of anti seize is Bostik Never-Seez Pure Nickel. Their address is
211 Boston St. Middleton,Ma 508-777-0100 If you can't find any thing else you can always use what we use on the HOT sections of jet engines MILK OF MAGNESIUM, and you thought it was only used for your stomach. |
