There's no doubt that a mouse could go up the side pipes if it could get to them. Some years ago, I bought a motorcycle for parts. When I removed the pipes, way up by the head, I found a bunch of little blue pellets, which had to have been poison mouse bait.

Not to set myself up as the resident mouse expert here, but another interesting tidbit regarding mice is that they're cannibalistic. If you use the "Tin Cat" type traps (tin box with holes and a little door on each end so the mice can go in but not out) and don't dump the mice out every few days, eventually you'll open the trap and find a bunch of mouse skeletons and assorted bits and one fat mouse. Gives a new meaning to "Serving your fellow mouse..."

If you want to take care of the rodent problem, buy a car bag. I have used these for years. It keeps the critters out, and by using the desiccant packs that are provided with the bag, you eliminate any possibility of moisture. It keeps dust out, too. Cheap investment, particularly if you amortize it over your car hobbying years.

vALVE SPRINGS AND LIFTERS

Hi Guys I back off my rocker arm shafts when the car goes away for the winter. It weakens the spring and collapes the lifter if hydrolics are used. If the valve sits alittle open, moisture will get into the cylinder and may cause a rust ring. I have repaired motors the have sat over the winter without proper maintainance of oil fogging the engine just like in boats. Somepeople are LUCKY and never do anything, me NO Luck so I take no chances. Oil fog the motor still it stalls out. New oil in the crank case, Back off the rocker shafts, Jack the car off the ground, put plastic under it on a concrete floor for moisture. Drain the fuel injection system, Top of the coolant. Stablized the gas with a full tank. Rags in the side pipes, trickle charger on the battery with a 1 week timer. Cover and good for the winter. In spring reverse the process, Crank the motor over with the spark plugs out to remove the oil, Spray WD-40 in the holes and fire it up. New plugs and ready for the season.Check the plastic for any leaks and repair as needed. My car marks is Domain like an H-D. :D Rick Lake
