Hello, new member intro...

Hi Guys,

I recently got the Cobra bite.
I was visiting NYC awhile back and watched a Cobra make its way through the traffic and was amazed at the agility and power it displayed as the driver toyed with traffic.

Something clicked inside me and I knew I would never be the same again.

A little about myself:
I'm no stranger around an automobile, been fascinated with them all my life. Finished a 1969 Mustang CJ project a few years back and currently working on a 69 RT Charger now.

After the episode in NYC I've been busy on the Net doing my homework on Cobra's.

Decided not to go the kit route, as time is scarce nowadays with family matters. Well to make a long story short, I ran into a good deal that I could not pass up and she now sits in the garage.

The other vehicles have lost their place in the garage and will be in the cold this winter.

Unfortunately the owner/dealer knew very little about the car and I will need help identifying the kit manu.

Here is what I do know.
Its has a 429 with a C6 and 9" rear.
It was titled in 92.
Has Mustang II front suspension and rack.

I usually will not rush to buy, but really needed to or lose the deal. I'm happy with it. I look forward to learning more about these legendary cars from all of you. Great site!!!

Welcome Dave... good first post.

Fine-tune your profile (location)... you may have some "neighbors" that could help.

Post some pictures in your gallery... the best shots to help ID the manufacturer are those of the hood and door hinge area, the firewall, the dash and the rear bulkhead (behind the seats)....as well as a good profile shot.

Have fun and enjoy the car.

Some of the best threads here on the Club have been:

Name that Cobra! Sometimes the "panel" is stumped, but not often! Brent Mills the Big Man on campus who created Club Cobra to this day drives an "unknown". How ironic is that,

Dave,

Welcome to the club and someone will be able to help you identify your car. As Ron (CW) said above, post some pictures. Also look through the members galleries and see if you see any that look close or the same.

Ron :)

Dave P: If you post pics of your engine bay and firewall, and any manufacturers decals located therein, we might just be able to ID it from here!

Welcome Dave,

The guys on this site have an uncanny ability to pull critical information about a Cobra's history from the smallest amount of information. I am sure you will know your manufacturer in a matter of minutes if not hours once you post a picture.

You are going to love this web site for information and support and an occassional diversion or two. Most of us love challenges although I doubt if I will be able to help in this matter. A lot of experts and diversity here.

...piece of cake..

Look like a Shell Valley to me.

Radiator mount and cross-member (rear of radiator) tell the tale...
