Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger has fired Veterans Affairs Secretary Maurice Johannessen. Administration officials said an interim replacement for Johannessen would be named today. Ex-Gov. Gray Davis appointed the former Republican state senator from Redding to head the troubled veterans agency last December. In a release Tuesday, Johannessen "announced his departure," but an administration official said he was fired Monday, Schwarzenegger's first day in office
You will recall it was MoJo, a RINO (Republican in Name Only) who broke an impass on the state budget back in 2001 allowing state democrats to push us further into the abyss we now face. Mr. Johannessen was named Secretary of Vetrans Affairs as a pay off for his vote. Mr. Johannessen also co authored the poorly crafted SB-100 allowing Specially Constructed Vehicles to be registered either by the year of the engine or the year the chassis most closely resembles, whatever that means.

"Poorly drafted" SB100 was and is better than nothing--screw the politics, at least he authored the bill. Nobody else would.

He also owns a CSX4000. He was a ally believe it or not.
Is there any truth to the rumor Arnold also released the Director of DMV?

He's been on the Republican hit list for a long time...only rascal to escape (somewhat) after helping the Demos. We got our local guy, Briggs, in the very next election--replaced him with GOP up and comer that got "lost" trying to find the Farm Bureau's office and got arrested for asking an undercover cop-ho for "directions".:JEKYLHYDE

Politics make strange bedfellows... The DMV chief was fired that thursday, he had been out of Sacramento opening a DMV office somewhere so when the hit squad couldn't find him they called him on his cell phone and told him to come back and clean out his desk.
Life is slowly returning to normal. ;-)
