I BOUGHT A NEW ALUMINUM FLOOR JACK AT SAM'S CLUB TODAY. ABSOLUTELY GREAT!!!!!
I HAVE SEEN JACKS LIKE THIS SELL FOR $500 OR MORE. 3 1/2" TO 17 1/2" LIFT. IT IS CALLED A CREW LINE ALUMINUM RACING JACK. WEIGHS 37 LBS, LIFTS IN 7-10 PUMPS. THE BEST PART IS I PAID $137 FOR IT. MAYBE IT SHOULD BE ON YOUR XMAS GIFT LIST. ALSO THEY HAVE CREEPERS THERE THAT ARE CROME AND CUSTOM, ADJUSTABLE WITH A LIGHT ATTATCHED FOR LIKE $34. HAD TO LEAVE THAT ONE FOR THE FAMILY TO BUY ME. GO GETTUM GUYS OR GIVE THE FAMILY THE IDEA. NO MORE LUGGING THAT REALLY HEAVY IRON JACK AROUND THE PITS FOR ME. HAPPY THANKSGIVING! JAY |

Thanks for the heads up... I just got one myself from Sam's ($132) and I am very happy with it. Seems to be very well built and good looking too with blue anodizing. I am psyched that I finally have a quality jack and for a great price to boot. |
Same jack as Harbor Freight;I got one of each.Northan Hydraulics also has some good buys now on lightweight jacks. chuck

Yes, I have one. Got it a about 19 months ago from Harbor Freight in silver. A real nice jack. For smoother operation, make sure you grease the handle where it fits into the socket (not mentioned in the manual).
This sucker can Handle the Cobra well. I use it to lift the ERA onto and off of Jackstands. It is worthy. How long it will last is another question... but so far so good. They come in colors now. Groits has the real deal for sale for about $500. |
My buddy picked up two of these jacks last summer for our dirt cars. So far I'm on my second replacement and he's on his third. The hydraulics keep failing and Harbor Freight is not going to exchange anymore for us.
It is a cheap aluminum jack. What it isn't is a racing jack like a Pace, Brunnhoelzl, or Quarter Master, not even close. Scott |

Yep....I had searched around forever and founds these jacks for sale at Harbor Frieght and at Sams. They were the only few jacks that will go down to 3.5 inches for under 500.00
My only complaint is that the first one only lasted about a week before it would start to leak down. I just exchanged it for another one and it seems to be very slow on raising the car. It may be just low on fluid. I hope i will not be disappointed again with this jack. |
Turk gave me one for my birthday last spring (what a guy!). One thing he warned me to do was to top it off with fluid...which I did.
It's worked great. I do need to fabricate a nice curved "plate" to better catch the round frame tubes...slipped on me once, but the jack stand that I was lifting the car to remove caught it. Grot's nasty boy is on my list...someday. **) |

I bought the Sear's jack for 179 figuring that I might be better (perhaps just a better warranty though)

the craftsman is made by the same people but is 2 ton instead of 1.5

I'll say something since "Sam's" is mentioned. I bought their "Michelin" 3-1/2 ton jack. Has a rubber soft lift pad a little magnetic bolt tray & 1 pump opperation. Fits under my cobra with no problem except, right in the middle in the front of the car. I just go in front of the tire to the frame. Everywhere else, it fits. The only thing I don't like is the handle does not stand up to 90 deg. when not in use. I really like it so far after 1 year use. It was apx. $65 It's not alum., castors not the rolling pin wheel & it's heavy but, it's a nice jack.
