Okay....he won it....(damned if I believed it, but he posted pictures!) ... So, Downtown....my apologies. And, my offer for lunch at El Arroyo in February at the TCC Annual Meeting still stands...BUT, you got to drive the car! So, don't sell it...

Now, then.....I said I'd eat crow! Mmmmmmmmmm, good....

F Freddie - you are meant to pluck it first.
Be careful now and don't mispronounce that word. I know you can mispronounce most words.

Great picture.

FF,

You are indeed a man of your word.....

Btw, did it taste like chicken? %/

Flyin_Freddie 12-01-2003 01:59 PM

Whatayou mean...'Pluck it'?

I though you said to "__ck it...!" Damned, no wonder it was so difficult ..... Boy, that'll teach me to listen to you English pluckers from now on....! Oooops....I mean you English ..... well, Wilf, you know what I mean, don't ya...?

:) ;) :p :D :3DSMILE:

wilf leek 12-01-2003 03:50 PM

Oh Freddie - yes, I think I know what you mean, but it will still be a pleasure to share a beer or six next time we meet.

In Jolly Olde, our saying for "eating crow" is "eating humble pie". Now where exactly does one find humbles to bake in a pie?

southernfriedcj 12-01-2003 03:53 PM

Wassup wit da wine liss?

Freddie, when eating crow one should always have a nice Merlot. Christsakes man, pull it together!

Actually we had a flame broiled Humble Pie in Stone Mtn. a few years back. I'll do a sarch and post up.

edit: Actually Steve Marriot died in a house fire in Essex. He lived in Atlanta in the late '70's, and I was lucky enough to catch a few of his gigs in the local pubs.

Howdy Freddie!

I wanted to let you know I got a BOXload of stuff from Wickers. I also recently bought a Big Green Egg and LOVE the thing. Did ribs again last night using the Flyin Freddie recipe.

Thanks again pal!

TC,
Welcome to EGG- dom. Cooked a 12 pound bird on mine this weekend (turkey not crow).

ToyCollector 12-01-2003 08:20 PM

Wow DC, didn't know you had one....but not a surprise given that resort layout of yours ;). I am not hijacking the thread, just trying to keep it front and center, since I am sure Freddie would want it well read ;) :D

IT LOOKS LIKE YOU HAVE FOUND THE FAMOUS BALSK SPARROW THAT HAS BEEN MISSING FOR DECADES. HERE IN TEXAS THAT IS JUST A BABY THAT YOU MAY HAVE NEEDLESSLY SLAUGHTERED TO ADVANCE YOUR PERSONAL GAINES OR LOSSES:D

IF IT WERE A TEXAS CROW YOU COULD HAVE A PICTURE LIKE THAT WITH A BUTTERBALL SIZED BIRD ...NOT THAT TEEENIE TINY WREN YOU HAVE THERE.

LIKE THE STATE... CROWS ARE BIGGER DOWN HERE:LOL:

BY THE WAY, LOOKING FORWARD TO IN AUSTIN AND AM HONORED TO HAVE YA'LL FURINERS COME DOWN.

JAY

PS. STILL WONDERING ABOUT THAT PIC AND THE STORY BEHIND THAT BIRD. WHAT HAPPENED...IT FLY INTO YOUR RIB COOKER:)

BMK 12-01-2003 10:02 PM

Yo..TeeCee!

Saaaaay, TC....dem ribses be lookin' goooood! Looks like I learnt ya real good... I fixed 40 lbs of ribs at Doug Reed's Snake, Rattle and Roll shindig in New Orleans the first of October. They disappeared so fast I thought we were part of a magic show. It's gonna be hard to top it for next year's event...but, I'll be there tryin'...!

The 'Egg' deal does a pretty good job...just make sure you keep some water in the pan...and try spiffin' up the water with a about a half a bottle of Jack in the Black....makes dem ribses taste reeeeeel good...nice bourbon flavor to 'em!

trularin 12-02-2003 05:25 AM

That sure it s small crow.

You sure you didn't pick a starling over a crow.

BTW, garlic helps with the taste. LOL
