Hey Steve,
A question right back at you, how many people have crashed in Busch or Winston Cup cars???? How many were profesional drivers, how many were not????? Just figured I would ask............. Bill S. |
How would you compare the safety factor of a street bike say one of them cafe racers like the Honda 900 to a cobra? Both similar in acceleration with limited protection from another motor vehicle ........just a thought

A lot of drivers have crashed in Busch and Cup cars but NOT on the street. Also those cars have millions in design research for safety and they are about as safe as you can make a race car. And people still get killed in them. Not to start an argument, but I hardly see how that compares with the question asked here. One of the most dangerous cars ever made was the Cobras and they are for the most part driven on the street and in traffic. I would take a hard top and especially a Cup or Busch car with it's safety devices over my Cobra any day. Ron :confused: **) %/ |

I remember longs threads on condolences to families. As oppossed to posting the names of those we lost, this thread appears to just be just an argument by those that don't accept the fact that the cars we drive are dangerous and have caused loss of life in our own club. ...And I thought denial was a river in Egypt!! This has nothing to do with marketing. I would say the majority of the CC members know what I do and know where to find me if they need to as many have. So, I don't feel it necessary to market at this stage of the game so get over yourself big guy. Your wrong. It's just simply about a group bound together by a common passion and looking out for ourselves. We are not here to deal with bad news yet all seem to feel it fit to post when we lose someone in a crash or they get hurt. Maybe we should then ban all bad news from the club and forbid anyone telling of a member that died in a Cobra crash and make like it never happened. Somehow, I don't think so. If I really wanted to advertise here then how come I don't have a banner? I got that kind of cash.:confused: |

Yes, the Cobra is indeed a dangerous "toy", never said that they were not. When people post about street racing, or a death on the street due to driving a car beyond a persons means, I am the first one to chime in that this type of showboating is not a good idea (take a look at some of the previous threads, you'll see my point of contention). Answer me this: When is enough power enough???? Just how much power do you need for a "street driven car"???? Bill S. |

Your questions didn't seem clear or relevent to this thread but I will give it a try.
If you are talking about the after market hobby Winston Cup/Busch racers like myself that go to vintage events, I am not aware of anyone who has died. If you are talking about crashes about the above group, I can tell there have been plenty of incidents some worse than others. That's real racing. Injuries? None that I am aware of and I have seen some balled up cars. They are safe comparatively to Cobra's if that's the answer you are looking for. If you are talking about real Cup/Busch racing, I don't keep track but I know Dale Ernhardt died. |
