Best Price on Shelby Block ?

I am not sure any one can help me,or that I can be helped,but my buddy has his shelby alloy block in the motor stand again with a hole in the side {not for long} and the looks of this thing is killing me,,
I am ready to start the build on my 64 top oiler block,now its occured to me that the only difference in having an alloy shelby engine and my antique is the difference in what my block will bring and the cost of the new one,since I have crank and rods now. am I nuts or what ?I already have WAY too much money in cobras for my status.
How much can I buy the alloy for ? Tk

A hole in the side? I'd be concerned about repair costs, get an accurate estimate before popping for it. The real advantage,in my mind,isn't the worth but the weight.Losing a few hundred pounds on the front end can only be good:D .

sorry for the poor wording,but I didnt intend to buy his block,but was thinking of a new one.
the "window" is the second one in his motor,but to him it isnt a big deal,he has already tiged it up,,good as new,just a racing thing he says,,lol{carillo rod bolt failed}
This guy is who made me love 427's the most,he has raced them non stop since 1967,I can remember selling him new c8az 6010 G blocks in the late 70's for 700 bucks and change,steel cranks in the high 300's if memory serves,I tell him he is nuts,but once in a while he beats the hendrix and other probuilt 30k bow ties with his home spun fe,I have to admit ,it is awesome to watch him,,66 years old,broad side a 2500 lb car 125 mph + on a quarter mile of dirt,the left front two feet in the air,the right barely skimming the surface,,then the blue flames from the zoomie headers and the unforgettable sound of 850 hp of alcohol buring ford above all the small blocks,,damn I wish it was summer,, he does every weld turns every bolt him self,and still works full time,,THATS racing,,Tk

They are around 5g's plus shipping and usually need a good amount of prep work.

TK....Carroll Shelby Ent. in Gardena California sells the block for 5150.00$ and the sometimes required head studs for 350.00$ plus the freigth to deliver which is usually between 100 and 200$ depending on where you live. No dealers are authorized to sell the block for any less than direct from Shelby. The blocks can be bought in several different configurations depending on your requirements. The blocks should be checked by a good and expereienced machine company to do any finish work required.

umm,,I am thinking if my block is worth 12 to 1500 ,,I only spend maybe 3500 to 3800 more to have a shiney motor,,,I need to sell more stuff,, thanks for the help guys,,Tk

I HIGHLY recomend using Gessford Machine to do the machine work on the shelby block for you.
George has done several of these and he is extremly fair & honest.
He did mine for me and I am very happy with it.
