Sure, I drive it to work, weather permitting (clear day, 40 degrees or so or warmer). There are other high end and special interest cars, such as BMW's, Mercedes, Austin Healeys, a Jag or two, etc., so it's not the only nice car in the lot. It does attract its share of attention, though.

I drive mine to work a lot. I might drive it more, but I do have security concerns. Could someone start a new thread with how they alarm/disable/tie down their Cobras? No matter what you do electrically, someone can always drag it away. That got me thinking about a brake line lock, like the kind on drag race cars. Has anyone thought about this as security against someone rolling their car on a trailer and into the next county?

The pecking order at work is:
1. Last evolution vettes.
2. Anything MOPAR
3. Mustangs

Then I will on occasion drive the Cobra in and completely upset
the petty "this car rules" game. Instead of the snake emblems on
the front and back, I put blue ovals. I admit, it is funny to see the
expressions from some of these fellas.
I have been fortunate in the fact that since I got the Cobra, my work place has been through security gates. Cold going to work in the morning but awesome driving home.

I drive mine all the time..except rain of course. I enjoy driving it so much that even at times when I wouldn't go out, I find myself slipping behind the wheel for yet another "SmileFest".

I guess we're pretty lucky to have and enjoy our Cobra's aren't we? I worked long and hard for my car, and even through the times of frustration during construction that we all have felt, I get that tingle when I start it up and slip it into gear. Almost...I said almost better than sex.

All the time. It takes bad weather or out of town travel to leave it home.

I had a covered parking spot built for it...right across the lot from my office.

Yea , once in a while I'll take it to a jobsite for a day........Thats usually good for equal parts appreciation and pucker.

I did it for the first time yesterday ! I work in a single level office with around 300 other. The secure carpark is under the building. I was concerned that I might have dozens of car alarms going off when I drove in, but lucky only a few chirped their "warning" beeps....

Most heard it driving up the street, but I couldn't believe how many people commented that they felt the building shaking as I idled along under the building :3DSMILE:

I took one of my bosses for a drive, and I think I'm Employee Number 1 now !!! Everybody were great about the car being there. No jealousy or silliness, just a lot of people coming down to see what all the noise was !

It was a lot of fun to stand back and listen to comments from people that had no idea who owned the car. The owner of the car beside me felt embarrassed that every morning they wound up the windows, locked and immobilised their sedan while "that expensive sports car just sits there all open". She wound down her windows, unlocked her car, and walked away

blykins- Ashland to Louisville.... I don't envy that trip very often. But I guess when females are involved we don't a lot of things that don't make sense! Guess that is why you got the cobra to get there quicker:3DSMILE: sent you an email so let me know when you are in town. would love to swap cobra stories and knowledge

blykins 12-12-2003 07:59 AM

I usually drive my Mustang to Louisville...it takes me about 2.5 hours. Not too shabby. And yes, it's worth it when you have a cutie waiting for you when you get there.

I would love to hang with you some time. Anytime there is a Cobra involved, I wanna be there....hehee

Where did you send an email to? I haven't gotten anything on my Hotmail account...and I think the private messaging on here isn't working right now...

You can reach me at: brentlykins@hotmail.com

I never drive my car to work dur to insurance regulations. However I may drive it to a parade or other recognized event. I may also drive it to test out any mechanical repairs. It's funny how those repairs are always made on a Thursday evening and need to be tested Friday morning.

I work at General Motors World Headquarters in Detroit. I have driven my Cobra to work often. Everyone likes it. It always sets off car alarms in the parking garage, but parking security that they will put up with the alarms just to see and hear the Cobra.

Once I was parked in an open parking lot area with my hardtop on. I got a warning ticket that I should have my windows closed for for increased security. I guess that the officer did not realize that these cars do not have windows.

I carry regualr insurance that allows me to drive anytime, anyplace provided I do not drive too many miles per year.

It's a lousy job...but SOMEONE has to drive these things to work.

David:D :D :D

Only problem is--I sometimes go UP SQUAW PEAK on my way to work--and UP SQUAW PEAK on my way home. Adds 1 1/2 hours to the commute...

rms427 12-12-2003 01:29 PM

I drove mine to work almost every day for the first 4 years I owned it.

flipper35 12-12-2003 03:55 PM

My insurance co just didn't want it to be my 'regular' commute to work car. Otherwise they don't care.

Stan Mitchell 12-12-2003 04:15 PM

When I had mine, I used to drive it to work on a regular basis. Of course, I had ulterior motives---I was the driving instructor at the Police Academy at the time and had my own track to "test" on.........:JEKYLHYDE

Drove a 427S/C today back to "work". And I do have the GREATEST job on the planet. It was 15 degrees ambient, but who cares? Today, I got to be around Cobras and the people who love them all day long.... Tomorrow, I get to do the same thing.

What a country!!!

BeanCounter 12-12-2003 08:18 PM

Jeez Bob you're hardcore. I backed mine out of the building tonight so I could sweep it out and darn near froze to the seat.

I'm lucky enough to work from home. However, afte I get the car painted and the soft top on it will be my daily driver.
