Something unusual about this Cobra - trivia of sorts
Well, I hope you all recognize this Cobra -- and where the photo is from.
http://members.cox.net/btsai4e/gr57.jpg So here's the question: There is something different about this Cobra than almost every one (99%+) I've seen posted on this site. Can you guess what it is? Oh, and it's not the CB antenna and it's not the full bumper. Ben (I watched the movie last night for the umteenth time and just made this observation.) |
There is no roll bar. The exhaust is under the car and it has a CB antenna. The picture isn't very good. It appears ther is a doberman in the passengers seat but that 's probably a bad smear on the image.
Hersh:) |
I think the doberman was Graves putting his jacket on.
But you are right, dog gone it -- no roll bar. I found it interesting that the car that has probably influenced so many of us Cobra hounds didn't even have a roll bar. (Especially with all the F5 guys looking at shortening their roll bars, etc. Seems to me the originals' roll bar diameter was smaller too...) So -- Hersh wins! Good job buddy. Ben |
The picture is from "the Gumball Rally" movie.
|
Also, as I recall, didn't it have some kind of strange vents on the hood?
|
DVD screen on the dash should be further to the left of the oil pressure gauge. Poor execution of dash stereo.

THE AFTER MARKET COBRAS TAKE AIM AT SC DASHES, ROLL BAR AND SIDE PIPES. THE FACT IS ALMOST ALL 427'S WERE STREET CARS WITH NO ROLL BARS AND SIDE PIPES, ALSO NOT ALL "427'S" LEFT SHELBY AMERICAN WITH 427 ENGINES...ALOT OF 428'S. SMALL BLOCK CSX2000 SERIES WHEN EQUIPED WITH A ROLL BAR HAD THE BRACE ACROSS THE PASSENGER SEAT. THE CANNONBALL PICTURE WAS A CLASSIC...BUT NOT MANY KNOW THAT RICK KOPEC HEAD OF THE NATIONAL SAAC CLUB RAN THE "RACE" IN A BORROWED GT350. HE RECOUNTED THE ADVENTURE IN AN OLD SHELBY AMERICAN MARQUE. A FRIEND MARTY LANGTOM AND HIS WIFE RAN ALSO, AND TO THIS DAY STILL SHARE A LAUGH OR TWO. MARTY ALSO HAS THE DISTINCTION OF BEING THE FIRST TO ROLL HIS CSX COBRA AT THUNDERHILL TURN 5, THEREBY PROMPTING A NOR CAL TECH REQUIREMENT ROLL BAR FOR OPEN CARS AT NOR-CAL EVENTS.

RHD?

I think you've all missed the strangest thing about the photo:
the Cobra isn't in the lead!!! What a strange and most silly idea... But that's Hollywood for you - always coming up with the most unlikely scripts! |
I KNOW, I KNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Can I play, or is my involvement and obsession with this movie to far over the top so as to not make it fair if I join in :D :D :D .......... Bill S. PS: A little trivia back...On this particular car, how many different license plates can be seen throughout the movie %/ |
"Proofread carefully to see if you any words out."
NICE:LOL: |
There were
two different 427s used in the filming. Along with the "changing" license plate there are dents that appear and disappear on the cars.
I would say the continuity person on the film didn't do a good job, sorta like the now-you-see-it-now-you-don't shrimp cocktail in "PRETTY WOMAN"......OK, OK I have to watch it with my wife once a month as it's one of her favorites. IO know the CSX numbers of the cars used in the movie are in the registry but it's too dang early to look it up now... Looks to me like the Taillights are falling off, or hindged or something!
