Narrowing down shades of blue
I thought that I had decided on BMW Mauritius Blue (circa 1992, I believe) as the color blue for my car (a la Mr. Mustang and pderouss). The Kirkhmam that is painted McCluskey Blue currently on Ebay has caught my eye. Does anyone have any photos of Cobras painted either McCluskey Blue or BMW Mauritius Blue so I can compare?
Thanks |
What about the indigo blue/ I believe that is a Chevy color. Superformance uses that blue and it is classy and sporty at the same time. Just a thought. Rick

There was an excellent thread on the FFR forum quite a few months back showing pics of a large variety of blues. Run a search on that forum for "spectra blue" (one of my favorites). That should lead you to the thread.

This link might work. The thread is now in the ff forum gallery and there are pics and info on 23 different shades of blue.

How do I find your gallery? I did not see a camera icon next to your name. |
1997 viper GTS blue
Check out my gallery. The color is great. Has just a hint of purple in it which shimmers in the sun.

A little-known secret is that there is a metallic blue Volvo colour which is rather nice. And not so far off the fabled "Guardsman Blue".
Because the metallic particles are whatever they are, the paint can take on a steely-grey look in direct sunshine. In fact it does look like a very early 60's or 70's metallic colour. I liked it so much I used it on my car. No special paint make up - it's a std Volvo colour, although I cannot recall the reference right now. Pics in gallery of course. |
There must be something wrong with my computer as no camera icons are popping up. I will retry at teh office.

The Shelby anniversary color, Intense Blue, is the nicest I have seen.

Have we ever found a blue close to "McCluskey Blue" that is readily available?
