OT - Who felt the quake???
Initial shock was a 6.5 epicentered in San Simeon (Central CA, along the coast), followed by a 4.7 aftershock, then a bunch more aftershocks...

WRT Hearst Castle - it's built like fort. I doubt that it suffered any damage, other than some broken windows. Most (if not all) of the antiquities are bolted down, in preparation for a quake.
At 6.5, it was felt up and down the entire state....:JEKYLHYDE

Felt in Camarillo, I was at a stop sign & due to hunger thought I must be getting dizzy especially since the person next to me at the stop didn't seem at all effected.

The lights started swinging gently in the factory, but I didn't notice till my boss came in and asked if I felt it.

Hmmm...and I thought it was that spicey shrimp creole from last night.
Fresno's the one area of the state where it's damn near impossible to have a quake, but we feel everyone else's.
Three victims in Paso Robles; epicenter in Cambria...a nice little town south of the Castle.

You just KNOW that somewhere, some grandfather, while visiting his children/grandchildren, at that very moment in time, asked one of the grandkids to "Pull my Finger!"
|
My wife's daughter lives in Atascadero & was working at a day care center in San Luis Obispo when it hit, some ten miles away.
Ummm - you might say she noticed it.
Didn't feel a thing where I live, but the guys in my studio in Studio City said they did.
Of course I was drunk - so I don't count.
