Turkey Pan ???
I'm may not be the smartest guy around but like to think I'm reasonably well versed in vehicle nomenclature. However, what the heck is a "turkey pan" and how did it get that name?
Thanks for your assistance and I hope everyong has a very enjoyable holiday season. auto10x Bill: |
turkey pan
A turkey pan is an alluminum shroud shaped like a "turkey pan" surrounding the carb and making a seal with the hood scoop. In 1965 mindset this was supposed to pressurize the air intake and generate power.

Now that you explain it I am somewhat embarrased to have asked the question. It does make sense.
Thanks, auto10x Bill |
Hi all,
:3DSMILE: Just finished making one and was fortunate enough to read another 'Thread' - where it was suggested to cut out holes to adjust idle, mixture, float levels etc. I'm using a soft rubber to seal against the hood. Used the bottom of the old air cleaner for a template. Cheers, Bernie Bernie Knight Mt. Gambier South Australia Home of "Weekend at Bernie's #2" - March 13th/14th |
Bernie: Are you making the rubber seal yourself?
-Does anyone know if someone sells a seal for the top of the Turkey Pan and where I can find one?? Thanks! |
