I recently replaced my stock-stroke Windsor with a 427 Windsor stroker. My previous engine had a billet steel flywheel and my engine builder opted to replace it with an aluminum flywheel on the new build. It's amazing how much faster the engine revs. I feel like I'm driving an Indy car when I'm running through the gears. I like it!

Tony, does the car drive any different other than the quick revving? Some people say they are sort of jerky? around town. My car will be somewhat lighter having an aluminum block, will this pose any problems maybe? Any info greatly appreciated.

My engine revs down as quickly as it revs up, so I find myself working the throttle a bit between shifts to make a smooth transition from one gear to the next. Between the light flywheel, solid, flat tappet cam and BG Mighty Demon carb, my car is considerably more "agile" than before.
