31spline, 4.5" wheel pitch outer 8.8 hub etc
Here is another of my rear end questions, I wish I lived in the US and I could just go down the road and get these parts!!!
I am going to uprate my diff to 31spline CV and axles, and outer hub flanges and want to know where I can get these parts, and it also might be better to buy new CV's? My car has the smaller spline and the manufacturer has welded about 1" long blocks on the outer hub flange edge to get in the larger wheel stud pitch in , I am hoping to be able to buy a proper 4.5" outer flange. Another question is the standard 31spline axle used then shortened and resplined or custom items made? |

You might want to look into the Porche 930 CV joints.... then get a spline shaft and hubs..... This is a very strong set up... |

My car is Ford 8.8 IRS, I would have to change the whole rear end to do that, and Porsche make strong stuff all the same if you were starting from scratch! Ford make larger 31spline units that should handle anything I put through it. One thing that amuses me is a lot of Cobra owners say that a Cobra would never get enough traction do any damage to axles etc ...............I know that Jaguar outer hub axles get a twist in them, on not very sticky tyres! |
