Where does this go?

Guys...I have a SW reverse speedo....there is a drive that I need to get for it that will allow the speedo to work backwards....it's like $46.00 or so. Where does this go? On the tranny end of the cable or on the speedo end of the cable?

SFfiredog 01-07-2004 02:46 PM

Speedo n/m

What is this little metal band? I thought I had ordered everything I need...but I don't see this anywhere...does it crimp on the driven gear?

blykins 01-07-2004 02:50 PM

....and what does "nm" mean?

blykins 01-07-2004 03:10 PM

This looks like a good place for an O-ring....do I need one of those too to seal the tailhousing?

jschiller 01-07-2004 03:24 PM

rdorman 01-07-2004 03:28 PM

Now, now, Rick.....manners manners...hehehe :)

Bly-
The adapter that allows the speedo to spin in reverse goes onto the back of the speedo and then you screw your speedo cable into it.

The "little metal band" is a "c" shaped clip that holds the driven gear (the plastic gear that goes in the tranny) onto the speedo cable.

And yes you need an o-ring.

You get the o-ring and clip from any place that sells mustang restoration parts. I got mine from Dallas Mustangs.

And as for the rest of it, you can put it . . . . :) :p
