Boss JBL At Home, Finally
After 2.5 years of Fridays & Saturdays the bossjbl is finally home for body work. I took it for a little
test spin around 8:30 am. It runs great and is a real handfull. My goal now is to complete the car in rough fasion by March and then take it to Thunder Hill or Sears, for sorting out and a good general thrashing, before paint and other finish work . Leaving the shop. The Big morning. My stomach was in a knot. http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...DSC00003-2.jpg Home, finally. http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...DSC00005-2.jpg Not one but two go karts. http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...DSC00008-2.jpg View from my office. I think I'll just take the door off permamently. http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...19DSC00015.JPG John |
John,
Sweet. After all this time and travail, it must feel good to have her home. But, I do recommend that you leave the door on the office. You still have to make money to pay for things after all. And I have found that if I leave my toys visible from my office, that my income drops directly in relation to proximity of the toy to my office. Unfortunately, I have a really big picture window (12 feet wide and 6 feet high.) that I look out of every day. Therefore, I only keep things that I have to do outside of my window. (Actually, the wife puts out the bits for my viewing pleasure.) Now, what do you mean it is a real handful? It has to behave better than the shifter cart!!!!! Maybe you just need to get some tire temp in that thing. |
Richard,
Not really a handful. I think I was just so excited to drive it and the damn thing really is so nasty. I'll be fine once I get a little seat time, should be around March / April. Ok, good thinking. I'll leave the door on. :JEKYLHYDE John |
Even in "primered spot" paint motif and sans hood...that is one bad ride.
Congrats and keep the pics coming. Bob |
That is one bad ass looking Cobra.
Good luck at the track but with that Go kart you have there I see a little advantage over those without the karting experience. Do we have any East Coast owners of the JBL? Cranky |
That is a fantastic car! The JBL is really something special!

hello
Hi John,
Congratulations. Like fine wine..., right? Looks cool. Enjoy! Duane |
Awsome! It's a great feeling knowing she's under your lock & key! Can't wait to see it in paint!

That is the offical, as delivered, paint job for a JBL. That way no one cares about the odd rock ding or track rash. It also saves a lot of time as there is no need to wax or polish. The lack of hood and decklid is an unfair aero modification. JBL only permits these modifications to bikinis. |
I'll be out in the garage tonight, spraying primer over my Lister's paint job and yanking the hood off of my JCF.:)
