Use Wenol red then Wenol blue to hold the finish. I have used it on my hotrods for years and have been very happy with the results. Costs about $8-11.00 a tube and it lasts a long time.

Zoop Seal makes a great product....I am not sure of their web address, but it should not be hard to find on the web

I used Zoopseal on the engine parts I had polished before assembly. It's supposedly good for two years. A bit pricy as a box goes for over $100.

I have used Wenol products for a long time. It is recomended by Halibrand. Once a year is about all you need and you can probably go longer. I live near the sea so I keep up with the wheels in a fastidious manner as the salt air is unkind to alloys.
I have not used the Zoop stuff... that price turns me OFF.
If you want to spend more than Wenol then look for the Rolite AP-3000 aluminum polish and the Rolite Premium Polish Sealant. These are carried by AirCraft Spruce and the combo will set you back about $60. These Rolite products are use on bare metal aircraft skins and can last even with the rigors of dirty hot aviation fuel exhaust baths. I learned about them from a friend who races a P51 Mustang.
