NAF owners

I know there a several NAF owners out there.
I recently aquired a '89 NAF 289 FIA. I was wondering if there would be any interest in exchanging information regarding the cars I.E. forum type or something. I know hearing from other owners of a particular marque that there is a lot of information that can be shared among the owners, quirks, problems, etc.

I have not had any luck so far contacting anyone--I know Jack Kube owns the company that was formerly NAF--but have not been able to contact him.

Anyway just a thought.

Rick and Dave

Hi, I've been looking for a 289 rollbar for the NAF. The car was originally built as a "street" car but with side exhaust. All the roll bar mounting points are welded in place on the frame, but I've not been able to find one that would fit without a lot of madification. I've checked with a couple of race car fabrification shops here locally and have gotten some outrageous $$ quotes--for a hoop and a leg. Yikes!

I've tried to contact the number on the website but generally don't get an answer, or voice mail, and haven't heard back.via either voice mail or e-mail. Though I realize they may not be able to help either.

My battery is mounted in the passenger rear behind the wheelwell and the glass has cracked open-from left to right in that area. Figure it was due to the weight of the batery and the jarring it has taken over the years--not really worried about fixing it as I've done a lot of fibreglas re-inforcing on boats over the years relatively simple fix for me to do.

My car is an '89 turnkey built and finished to the first owners specs by NAF--originally delivered with a BRG body and Tan leather interior, street trim, 302--the guy I bought it from installed a '67 289 HI-PO,rebuilt with a mild cam, new top and bottom ends, edlebrock hi-rise and Holley 650, after having problems with the 302, then repainted it red w/white stripes--oh well.

It runs well but needs some TLC. I had a SPF that I virtually never did a thing to. Sold it. Decided I wanted a project car especially a 289 FIA--got one, price was right for sure--$16k (guy was in a bind and wanted to sell this so he could buy an airplane--long story).

Anyway would like to heer from you if you have any ideas re: rollbar or of an "quirks" of the NAF, body, frame ,suspension, things I should be aware of. From what I've seen I pretty impressed with the NAF so far, well built body and frame as far as I can tell.
you all have a good one

GR,
Maybe it's my turn to help you. Can you get me detailed drawings of the bar you want? Photo's of how it's mounted?

No promises, but I bet we can make you a bar/hoop and it wont cost you a basement and a closet! ;)

DV...Yup..we can do that!

DV,

I'll take some pictures of the mounting points for the rear--the front leg mount is adjustable and can be installed after the leg is in.

I'll send you an e-mail with photos if that's ok?

Thanks

Gary
