Ford engine comparisons

A friends nephew that is away at college just sent me an e-mail asking how can he tell the physical differences between the Ford engines. He's just 19 yrs old. I'm thrilled when I hear of a young kid showing interest here rather than a Honda with a Maxwell House tailpipe and neon. Rather than try to explain all the details I thought I could send him a variety of the different blocks and let him study the physical attributes of each series. He's pretty knowledgable mechanically, but he wishes he could see an engine in a car and immediately recognize it. I remember when I was a kid and just couldn't grasp how the big guys could tell at a glance or with an ear what was what. I've been surfing through our gallery but I figure if I ask here maybe you guys could direct me to some pics, maybe uninstalled but assembled. No real crazy induction setups. Thanks,Ed
