Registering a Kirkham as a Kirkham?

Has anyone tried to register their Kirkham as a Kirkham with the DMV?

Racedeck in California that would be hard, don't know about Utah. Kirkham is not a manufacture, if they were a manufacture they would have to conform to the current EPA and Federal Saftey regulations, which would mean no 1965 Cobra Style car.

I believe only manufactured cars can by registered by name and model.

We have "specialty constructed vehicles", or kit cars. We are the builders.

Hmm? I will look into it a bit further....If you buy a SHelby 4000 series, which they are not the manufacturer of, without the motor what is it registered as?

I wish:cool: The hurdles we have to jump through are quite rediculous, especially here in CALEEFORNEEA:D I see old trucks from landscape companies on the road every day that produce more pollutants in 5 minutes than most Cobras do in a day & cobras are few & far between!!! I guess it's better to look on the bright side. There may be a day soon when we may see more electric or alternative powered cars on the road & the expense of driving a gas powered car like our Cobras becomes too much to afford or even worse, they become outlawed... Could happen!

Oh, the Glorious Irony ! Even the "Real Shelby" is titled the same as a lowly CMC: A Composite Vehicle. :3DSMILE:
