Black finish that is really tough

Anyone got a recommendation on what kind of finish is black and will stand up like chrome. Better than chrome is prefered.

I would like to have some detailing on the car be black instead of chrome and stand up to the elements.

Thanks!!

POR-15 or powder coat.

I would recommend powdercoat. POR 15 is great for awhile, then it "chalks out" and leaves a white residue. Any anti corrosion compound will usually do the same thing. You might try SEM Rust-Shield in Gloss Black and add their 38008 hardner and gloss enhancer. This is as close to powdercoating as you can come and still do it yourself. SEM products are available at auto paint stores.

Casting my vote on powdercoat.

Thanks.

The roll bars are power coat black, I think I will probably go with the black power on these other parts.
