need help on front suspensiion

My SV still had donor car front suspension,I got the tubular arms from SV,as well as upper mounts for the coil overs,I cut out the old stuff from the left side, and left the right installed for reference,I used the front most a upper arm mounting hole for reference on mounting the new shock/arm mount, masureing from the hole center to the front edge if the frame 3/3/8 ",of course it was in the same location as the right side, but the mount didnt line up perfectly to the gussets.no biggie I thought.
The problem is when i mounted the lower arm,and put in the shock,it was obious I had to force the shock to go in the top and bottom mounts,it is in a slight bind,I ended up cutting the top mount loose,{i only tacked it} then used a floor jack to raise the a arms, with shock and spindle mounted upwards, and let the top mount rest where it was not binded or loaded, then I tacked it again.
Now everything looks right, the top gussets fit well, but as u can see I have basicly moved my suspension back about 3/4 inches, has any one ran into this,I am wondering where the difference can be,and if it will have a negative effect,I dont belive the wheel well wil be a big deal,if so I will recut the opening, but am worried about handling effects.
I contacted dana at SV,although he is always very helpful,he was as stumped as me,,any ideas guys ? T
