Take FFR off the list and put A&C on it.
FFR can only be described as a "semi-manufactured" body. Ed |
Lmao
Edbo, your cracking me up over here! LOL "Semi-manufactured body" lol COBRAGAR hes right about A&C though they have a great body worked body, thanks from info from Roscoe and MRMustang you should take a look at them
http://www.acautos.com/ Antique & Collectibles website... (A&C) Hope that helps |
The Hunter will take several hours of body work to make straight. It is by no means ready to paint as it comes out of the mold.

I don't know about the others from a first hand experience, but I was more than happy with the lack of work I had to do to my Hunter body. Randy's son who does the work on the body does a great job compared to most of the street rod bodies that I have seen and worked on. Only minimal waves and very little bondo work required on my body. Also great family to do business with.

Unique and Midstates of those you mentioned in your post!

It's pretty hard to give an objective answer, since most of us only have experience with one body. I have seen Hunter's and FFR's and Hunter's took less work to get ready to paint.

You might redirect your question to a guy or shop who paints a lot of Cobras. Are there any of this type of shop out there that has done a number of different cars?
|
My midstates required very little work. The body was very good as delivered.
I have a buddy doing an FFR and his will require much more effort to get straight when he gets to that point. It should be noted the one I got was the "original style". Apparently the molds were taken off a "real" cobra (who really knows?), with its imperfections intact. I understand that particular car had the right rear fender about 1/2 inch lower than the left rear. I did not try to correct this. They also offered at some later time, a "fixed" body where the fenders were supposedly "perfect". I dunno which they offer now as this was a long time ago. |
Ok let me clear something up. We have a 96 inch car as our demo and we spent several hours sorting out the body. I was not trying to say that Randy and his family were bad at making bodies in any way. We have a great relationship with Randy and his family. All I was trying to do was give an honest opinion as to how much work WE had to do to get the body were we wanted it.
The quality of the materials is top notch and his frame is well made. We plan on building many more of Randy's cars in the future. Please understand I did not plan to say anything bad about the kit and that was not my intent. |
need some more guys to read and give there opinion
