KingCobra or Dragonsnake?

I was checking out CSX 3159 on another site and it was listed as a Dragonsnake. Was the Motion KingCobra considered a 'Dragonsnake'? Anyone know if it was originally black or the blue it is presently? That's the only CSX I lust after! As a kid I used to dream about powershifting that beast....wait a min....I STILL DO!

CSX3159 was not a true "Dragonsnake".. it was built and shipped as a street car.... by the way, originally painted black.

I believe the Harr Ford car was the only 427 car built as a DS.

Looking at the history of 3159, it was a real "lemon" with scores of warranty claims the first year.

I remember the racing scene on L.I. in the 60's, with Rosen and the Motion cars.

Some "lemon"! The car, as I see it now, doesn't even remotely resemble its former self. Sort of like seeing George Foreman selling his grills. Is there some literature on the history of the King Cobra? What happened to it during the past 30years.
Remember..."Motion makes it"

It sure was a lemon... I'll post the details on all the warranty claims later, but it had a bunch.

No literature, but like most of these cars, it was sold early by the original owner. It ran the drags in 1967 or 1968.

It was painted "King Cobra", but don't confuse it with the Shelby King Cobras (based on Cooper chassis) that were circuit-raced.

Motion had a lot of followers back then, even before their association with Baldwin Chevrolet and the Camaros they did.

I've heard alotta stories (good& bad) about the young JR, McBetts, and a few others from that era! Motion 'was' Long Island for a while there! Now LI has no racetracks!

To some...not to others. :D

I raced at National Speedway and Westhampton, as well as the 1/8 mile track at Islip.

(...as well as Crossbay Blvd., North Conduit, the Clearview Expressway, Peninsula Blvd. and Connecting Highway)
