BEEEUTFULL.......Hightech?

computerworks 02-10-2004 10:00 PM

"1978" sure pre-dates HiTech. .

Saw this earlier this week....strange bird, eh?

"Replica" ..he says. "..purchased in 1978"..he says
"..aluminum" he says.

Who made alloy repo's in the 70's??

Interior has nice patina...dash is very correct. Center fuel filler is interestingly correct....undercar exhaust....leaf springs.

Very handsome car; underhood alum is wrong and wiring is funky.
...but a lot of what's under the hood looks very good.

Ron,

I thought I had read somewhere that Hightech was one the first in with authentic repros in the late 70's

I think that's too early... I remember them coming on the scene mid 80's.

Boy

That is some car for under 50g's if it can be bought for that number.

The brake cylinder and master looks like Girling, and the washer bottle is also an English unit.

Let the buyer beware, this car is titled as a 1966 Mustang, using a 1966 Mustang VIN, and not the COB number it supposedly has stamped in to it's various hinges.........Seller (not owner, as owner lives in Columbia) has yet to provide me with the correct numbers

Unique started producing cars in the late 70s. They are the oldest, if memory serves.

Nice little roadster, though. If the title is clean, it would be a great buy. Despite the uniqueness of the slab side, and the interest people appear to have with them, when push comes to shove, the prices never seem to be that great.

Is there any unaccounted for 289 cars, maybe a stolen one that has different #'s? It even has original style exhaust. I thought Arntz was one of the first(glass of course), but in the 70's, you'd think that an aluminum car would have come from AC.

Strange steering wheel hub.

Steeeve,

Talk to mrmustang, he's got the 4-1-1 on this car.
