DVSF IV Need input NOW
 

After talking to DV, and a couple of other folks, I think this can be pulled off. Moving the SF 2 hrs north to the Cleveland, Ohio area. Basically about 25-30 west of Clev on the lake. There are 4 motels within 1/2 mile of each other. All are located at an exit for the Ohio Turnpike and I-90. Some of the events planned for London can be held here...but also will need to come up with some new ones.

All I can promise is 3 days of events. I doubt that SF III will ever be topped, but this ball has to start rolling now. Same dates as London. Trying to keep things like they have been, if all the venues are available, otherwise this is where the new ones come in.

I'll need help from the Northern Ohio people, but as of now this is a doable project. As for help, have no idea what I need, all I know is that I don't need lip service, but hands on help.

I realize that we will lose some people, simply for the fact that it's not in Columbus, or not being put on by DV, I would hope that you don't stay away for that reason.

I guess what I'm looking for right now is a thumbs up or thumbs down, before we go any further with this....Will have a definate answer by Monday, based on the response that I get...

I would suggest just setting up a block of hotel rooms and organize a cruise to the QS&L in Sheffield Lake or Rock & Roll Hall of Fame or something. Keep it simple.

Ironically, if I were to attend, I would most likely have to travel I-270 around Columbus on the way...or?

I guess that depends on where you are in Indiana. But there are plenty of ways around. Fortuniatly this shooter idiot has stuck more or less to one area of town down by where 270 south and 71 and 23 are located. Once it was elsewhere, but that was on the far east side. You would not be going through these areas.

Yeah, I know. I just thought there was a certain ironic twist to it. If it's possible at all, I'm flingin'. Havent' missed one yet-don't plan to. However it plays out, thanks for all you and others have done to try to keep the torch lit. DV has a good point. We probably do make a good target for some misfit to try to make a splash in the news. For the good times involved and for Jenny and the others, I'm willing to try to make it work. (safely)

We're trying to keep it going here in Columbus (London) As a matter of fact a few of us are meeting Sat to begin to put things together. We have some sponsers on board already with the garantee of a few more, including CF. With a coalition of Cobra clubs working together, I believe we can pull this off. Let me know what you think. We may lose a few who are intimidated by that terrorist SOB, but by my Email responses, most want to continue. One of my concerns is that we would lose the Cystic Fibrosis aspect (and that is what this is really all about) if we drastically changed venues. Let me know. You can call me at home (614) 889-2358

I will make either Columbus area if it gets resurrected , or Cleveland area if the date is the same. If the date slips, then i might have a conflict but have BOOKED the DVSF dates onto my calendar as was expected to happen.

WE as motorists take our lives in our own hands every time we leave the house here...so sniper or not, here I come. I still have to drive thru Columbus to get to Cleveland from Florida. Oh hell!, I was going to Cleveland first anyway. I'm planning on making it to the DVSFIV in Cleveland or London or?
