heat in drivers compartment
Are any of you guys out there with superformance cobras having trouble with engine heat in the drivers compartment? I like the heat shields that they put in the engine compartment to deflect the heat away from the footbox area and down the side of the transmission tunnel. And I was considering buying some for my Unique cobra. I have talked to the parts manager and they sell these shields as a kit. I may have to modify them to fit my car, but that's ok. I just wondered how effective they were for keeping engine heat out of the drivers compartment. Any comments would be appreciated. THANKS

Try Kool Mat instead. It isnt cheap but it does a great job!

Heat shields make a tremendous difference. I know. I ran
without them for two weeks, driving every day during that period and man was I uncomfortable. I am sure the kit you are talking about comes with everything you need for install. I put 5/8" standoffs between the footbox and the shields. |
Another Unique with a 4V Cleveland right here in Ohio! Welcome!
Mine has kool mat or a similar product covered by aluminum. No problems with heat. Did you know that there is a Ohio Cobra Club? About 110 members currently. Drop me an email with your email address and I will put you on the mailing list. Rick |
