I came across some pictures taken 30 years ago of a small block Cobra involved in a relatively slow speed accident. The car had skidded into a telephone pole and the only thing that stopped the car was when it hit the main frame rail. Needless to say there was little protection afforded the occupants by the soda can thin aluminum doors. I've always considered the original Cobras to be essentially like (and as dangerous as) four wheel motorcycles... not much between you and the countryside.

The footnote on the story is that as easily as the car got bent, it was almost as easy to straighten out and today the car lives on in Michigan...

And here is a picture taken after the body was taken off. Note the frame rail. The bent section was cut out and a new piece welded in.
