Parts needed to complete FFR
I am looking to buy a FFR Roadster. Do any of you have a complete list of parts needed to complete their kit from their assembly manual? I am going to go with their Pin drive irs, 17 inch wheels, 4 speed toploader, and all aluminum 427 FE. Also,
how accurate is their body to orginal specs? I would like to do a non doner build. |

FFR vs CSX BODY Shape
LwCwb,
This has been listed in other previous posts; A. The most obvious is the "perky butt" issue of the rear area is turned up from the door area at an angle to the road. B. The roll bar is 2" and at an odd angle with the brace. C. The hood scoop is wrong shape and molded into the hood, not pop riveted to it like a Competition or S/C COBRA. Those are the obvious items seen at a distance, the more subtle, the nose is shaped different, stubby/flat like, has bezel base raised areas for the front parking lights..... I'll stop there since the others are not obvious to most. Do a search function for the COBRA body shape, profile, differences, and such for more detailing ideas. grumpy |
How accurate is the Tristate motorsports body, and will it bolt up to the FFR frame?

If you are looking for a nice build and an accurate body check out
Antiques & Collectibles in Buffalo. My build site: http://www.priveye.com/cobra.htm Nicest thing is that you get the body gelcoated and it comes from the factory looking like a paint job...just a perfect finish. Some have just clearcoated the gelcoat. I am going into my 4th year on the road and haven't painted or clearcoated yet. I saved about 3-6 thousand. http://www.priveye.com/dls/one1.jpg Roscoe |
Yes the tristates body bolts to the FFR Frame. It is a direct replacement.
In order to save some dough, I used the ffr body and just purchased the hood (and rivet on hood scoop) and trunk from tristates. Matt http://www.mattcuozzo.com/IMG_0328x.jpg |
