engine dies?
OK, ford 302 engine, roller cam, roller rockers, dart heads, standard ignition, etc. has run fine in the past, but now starts every time and dies immediatly. I've swapped the carb for another that I know works fine on another engine, and it still does the same thing, what could it be? it dies immediatly it starts?
any help greatly appreciated. Thanks ps, standard ignition |
Long shot, but my 65 Mustang did this one time with me..... Ignition switch went out, when you would turn it to "start",the car would fire up immediately, when you would let off the key and let it return to the normal "on" position it would die,bad switch was my problem, took a while to figure it out.........just a shot in the dark.........

David...SPOT ON!!!
The previous owner had fitted a switch in the engine compartment that cuts out the ingition. With the key in the start position, the engine would fire, but as soon as you release the key to the "run" position, the curcuit was dead. Flicked the switch and it starts and runs fine. phew, big relief !!! Thanks for the advice. Simon ps, nice immobiliser! |
