There was a AWESOME show on Speed tonight - American Muscle Car Special Report - Ford A Century of Racing Dominance
It will replay tonight 11-12pm PST. WATCH IT, RECORD IT, don't take any crap from your wife about watching Lifetime instead! THis is the best documentary I've seen yet. |

Caught it. Pretty good. A lot of history in a short period of time though. Last night, Gran Prix and Speedway back to back on TCM. Some good TV for motorheads these days!

I saw it. Not a very technical show but more politically oriented in how men in power can either produce or stop the race/go fast efforts of a company at any time. ie: the 427 is mentioned but that is about it. The cars are shown but not in context with a real timeline.
The history of Ford's racing heritage is the overall theme with outsourcing to Holmann Moody, and Shelby being of interest. The politics of the gas crisis are discusses and the Senate Investigation of the Auto Industry's lack of progress in fuel efficiency. The result of which killed Ford's racing program over-nite. A fairly nice show... the Cobra gets perhaps 3 minutes of time. the schedules are on www.speedtv.com if you get the SPEED channel on your cable network. |
