289 AC Slabside Cobra
Does anyone know of this car or has anyone seen this car. It was for sale on e-bay at $45,000 with no offers. In a prior auction it bid up to $32,000. It was in the Ford/other section of e-bay, not the best place for selling a car like this.

I spoke to the seller a few times. It seemed like $40K would buy it. I was particularly impressed with the engine compartment. Check out the original overflow tank and the Cobra-only cast iron exhaust manifolds . . . . Someone got a great deal on this car.

Looking closely at the pics, you can see the transverse leafspring up front, everything looks 'right' about it. I`d like to know what it says on the chassis plate..... I wonder if it was actually built on a dead ACE chassis? I know someone who was thinking of importing it to the UK, but got scared off by the customs issues, I`d want to see it before doing that myself!

The car sold for $40,000. It had Frua foot boxes and other items that were a hodgepodge of different models. It was overall a nice driver piece but no real provenance. It was probably assembled here by a well known player in the mid 70's. Not authentic AC Cobra but a nicely put together car with questionable value. What do you tell people it is?

it appears that the vin number belongs to a 66 2 barrel 289 mustang. if i'm right, registration could be a problem.
