Terry:
The car pictured is definitely Larry Miller's 2036. It is now painted Viking Blue (which no Cobra ever was originally - the closest match would have been Princess Blue). Drew's 2357 was a Dragonsnake from the factory, and is now painted Guardsman Blue with a heavy metallic, like it was originally. And the reason 2036's Weber set-up doesn't look original is because the car was a street car with a 4-barrel from the factory. Have fun at ThunderHill! |
THANKS NED. AT LEAST MY MEMORY REMEMBERS THE CARB SETUP!
CSX2196 LOOKS REAL GOOD SINCE THE "MISHAP" AT LAGUNA. WAS SHOWING SOME PROPERTY TO DICK SMITHS EX MECH. HE HAS A SHOP UP HERE IN NORTHERN NEVADA. STILL TELLS THE DATYONA ADVENTURE, GAVE ME A PICTURE OF HIM CROSSING THE FINISH LINE.....YELLOW FROUNT/ BLUE BODY. WISH HE BOUGHT THE HOUSE!!!! TERRY |
Yeah. I guess that would be a lot better than buying the farm!

Would like to ask a slightly off topic question. Two-- twin supercharged cobras, one of which was supposedly the last cobra off the "line". One of course went to Bill Cosby which was then sold and wrecked. Question, who,and Where is the other one, anybody know?
DV...I know enough to be dangerous to myself and others! |
Ed...the other one is alive and well... and restored to it's twin-paxton fitment... CSX3015.
The Cosby one, CSX3303 (not the "last off the line") has risen from the ashes and now looks like an S/C, and lives in the UK, I believe. |
Aaah, as usual Ron is THE man!
This confirms that it must be real! I just saw Shelby's own Twin S/C car. Couldn't believe it, but there it was. I even have pictures! I even dug up an original article written about the car, (which stated it was the last American Shelby of the line). Problem is it's a photocopy of the article and I have yet to determine what magazine it came out of. DV...sure would love to have it at the DVSF IV! |
THE COSBY CAR WAS DISCUSSED ON A PREVIOUS FORM. THE ONLY THING THAT EXIST ON THAT CAR IS THE VIN #. WHILE THE VIN# IS NOW IN UK, IT'S RIGHTHAND DRIVE, AND HAS NO PAXTONS. I SAW THE CAR AFTER IT WAS WRECKED AT S&C FORD IN S.F. THE DRIVER WHO WAS KILLED WHEN THE PAXTON'S STUCK OPEN, WAS A FRIEND.
