Stripes and badges - specs.??

Can someone help us with the specifications for stripes???

There has been some discussion on 'All Cobra Talk" on the Thread on stripes.

Can someone Post the site where you can get bthe specifications on both stripes and location of fender/trunk badges.

I think it is possibly a manufacturer that has the specifications on site.

The site you want to review is is erareplicas.com

The stripe dimensions can be found at...
http://erareplicas.com/427man/stripes/index.htm

They have a page for badge spacing in their manual also.

Hope this helps. -John

Truth be told I don't think many 427's had stripes originally. I think stripes were mostly seen on the comp 289s.

427s look better sans stripes IMHO.

originality

....and the stripes were not tapered for "illusion" as most current builders do.

Hi all

:3DSMILE:

Thanks for your replies to my question.

I am not certain (also) if they had stripes, although many of the Cobra history type books carry photos with stripes.

I personally like the race car type look and to that end I have tried to replicate that look using a 427 body and building a chassis etc. in a Melbourne, Australia,. race shop.

Whilst the guys there mainly build drag cars and some circuit cars their expertise has assisted me in building a reasonable car.

Full harnesses, aluminium interior and race fittings assist with this aim of a race car type Cobra.

I will use the Guardsman blue colour with white stripes. Additionally I will run a light yellow stripe set over the front.

The variation in stripe thickness is only slight with a 1' inche change from lower back/front to the centre of the car. This does give the body a wider appearance. I have seen this done on one other car.

A number of cars have the additional small 1/4' stripe on either side of the bigger stripes. Personally I will not do this. I will however consider running the circle/gumball.

Well its to the paint shop. Will Post pictures when finished.

Cheers. Thanks again
