Anyone planning on going this weekend?

BMK 04-12-2004 10:11 PM

Hi Edley,

Sounds like a great weekend.

I think my friend Hershal Byrd 'btsnake' from Phoenix Arizona will be there with his silver/black Roarin 40's GT40.

Hersh is the US agent for the GT40's. He spent some time driving around melbourne in Australia with me recently in my Cobra.

He may have Robert Logan an Aussie with him. Robert is the manufacturer of the Roarin 40's GT40.

Hey say hello to the guys - give them my regards

%/

A big "good day mate' will attract their attention.

I will be over for the 'DVSF' next year and Hersh has promised to have his other car a Cobra re built for me to drive from Phoenix to Ohio following his GT40.

You had better check his progress for me

Cheers

Bernie

Dont miss the knotts Cobra show if you can help it guys! it is awesome in terms of the manufacturers that show up and if you want to be able to talk to them and take some pictures to help make up your mind which one ya want this is a great show. The ability to talk to other owners is a big help too so go if ya can and take some money lots of cool stuff to buy! hats, pics, stickers etc etc. If ya liked the Ford show make sure to check out the kit car show in 2 weekends and seeya there.

I will be there--the Fabulous Fords show, that is. Blue Ford Racing cap turned backwards with Gashole T-shirt.

Thanks for passing on my wishes to the guys on the Roarin 40's site there.

Hope weather is fine and that you have a good time.

Spoke with the boys today and they are heading that way.

The roar will be the 'Roarin 40's' GT40 heading in. They will look out for you.

Cheers

Edley, what time do they open the gates?

If I can get mine running before the weekend, maybe I'll make it out there.

I'll be at the Fab Fords show on Sunday with my son who's showing his 76 Ranchero. I'll take my Cobra to the Kit Car show on the 24th-25th and be parked with the Shell Valley folks. I'm looking forward to meeting y'all.

I THINK the gates open at 7 AM for participants; the "show" starts soon after that. The best place to be is the entrance gate, where you can see and HEAR all the hot-rodded V-8s rumble thru the driveway. Awesome to get it on video!!!

Does the event attract large numbers of exhibitors and enthusiasts?

Cheers

I found a link on the Knott's web site. The show is sold out for participants (~2,000 cars!!!!). They are now saying that only spectators (free admission) will be allowed in. I'll be damned if I'm going to park my SPF in the general parking area...looks like if I go at all I'll be driving my pick-em-up truck. :(

Edley Rondinone 04-14-2004 05:33 PM

About half the cars are Mustangs. Mustangs get their own parking lot. As a soft, general rule, the cars are divided into decades of manufacture. I think its a GREAT show!! Been going for years!!! First, with my '57 Fairlane 500, now with my Cobra replica. Get there early with the video camera, and tape all the cars as they drive into the lot.

Sunday SUNday SUNDAY!!!! Rain or shine we'll be there. Probably cloudy ion the morning, but should clear up by the afternoon.
