Performance Unlimited has a brief explanation of the continuous improvements in the SPF over time.

That web site helped me to make my decision when I bought mine.

The above information will be helpful. It is my understanding the upgrade emergency brake set up is a must as the earlier ones did not do the job. The newest update does the trick.

rob, don't worry about older cars. many of the evolutionary 'running changes' that SPF has done over the years can be upgraded to the older cars. in fact, many owners have done alot of the upgrades over time themselves, as I have done. just be cognizant of what ya want to use the car for and what one has that another doesnt' as it applies to your needs/wants/pocket book budget. my older ,built in 1996 , SPF #156 stands tall today and provides reliable and enjoyable transportation with many smiles to the miles. lots of good choices out there at many different asking prices with many personalized touches by owner, or prior owners , over time...or just plain stock outta the box offerings. new or used , ya pay your money and make your choice. bill
