Slhelby / Kirkham aluminum FIA with transverse leaf springs...are they still being ma

Just wanted to know if the Shelby aluminum bodied FIA is still being offered to Shelby customers....David Kirkham indicated that they will no longer be taking orders for their FIA Cobra with the transverse leaf spring suspension ....i was told that although there is a market for these Cobra's with the purist, more people want the coil over suspension so they will be focusing on there FIA Hybrid......if Shelby can not get the bodies and chassis's from Kirkham will they get the bodies else where and continue to produce the car......does anyone know the cost of a new Shelby FIA in aluminum......thanks for the help

flgearhead,

We are currently no longer making the leaf spring 289 FIA cars. The damand for the 427 chassis 289 cars has been too great and the demand for the normal 427 cars has just been too great as well.

We will still make the car on special orders though. Special orders usually take 4-8 months--depending upon when the order is placed.

We are still making the cars for Shelby and they still buy them from us.

I do not know how much Shelby is selling their cars for. I would call Bob Marsh. He is a really nice, straight-shooting, guy. We certainly wish him well.

David:) :) :) :)
