Hi Outlaw'
The filter is # 33-2121-1. I will have to find the universal carb tray and foam part #'s and get back to you. I recently purchased the foam but the carb tray has been around for a few years. I am not to good at keeping records. Everything else was purchased locally at a hardware store. Here is a shot with the filter removed. If you want more pictures or have questions you can E-mail me @ kdao@gci.net. My name is Dale. Have fun with the project. |
O.K. Outlaw...My mistake. I purchased the flame retardant foam from Moroso...The carburator pan is available from them also.http://store.wpsracing.com/morairpankit.html

My custom air cleaner
[quote=REDSC400;469201]I think this design is very interesting. Perchance, cost aside, did you calculate the total square inches of your single panel filter solution VS. the total square inches of the K&N 9" round filter and the Xstream K&N top?
It would be interesting to understand how close in total filter inches these two solutions are. Reason I ask is that one would imagine that one of the restrictions of air flow is related to the total square inches of filter material and its placement above the carburator throats. The new Barry Grant / Demon catalog has their new Flying Wedge filter Assemblys. Did you see those? Had a look at the Barry Grant Flying Wedge Filter assemblies and that looks very similar to some of Spectre products. The BG assembly visually looks like it would only feed a std under 4 litre engine if it was lucky and all the hot under hood air. It would be better if you could just use the wedge and plumb cold filtered air in..........! I going to have a go and making a similar wedge style fabricated plenum but a bit larger diameter to give incoming air more room around the carb top, as I only have 2" max above my Pro systems 950 for the air to turn. If I had known this Nascar Yates engine was going to be such a complicated fitment I would have just gone out and purchased a new 505bhp, 7 litre Corvette engine and had none of these hassles plus it may have gone almost as good horsepower wise and with driveability and economy as a bonus, and stuff the purists etc. But sticking with my original plan when I good classic style racing the Ford engine will make it more acceptable. |
That's really nice.
Congrats on a job well done! |
Looks very clean. The only worry I would have is it acting like a dustpan & collecting everything that comes in. Obviously not a huge concern since these aren't everyday drivers. Looks Great!

I wonder after FIVE YEARS how it's held up?!?:LOL:
