single hood strut
 
When at the Kit car show at Knotts this past weekend I noticed a slick single gas hood strut setup on some of the cars. It is a short Gabriel strut that mounts to a bar in between the hinge mounts then down to a support near the top of the radiator. I would like to do this on my Cobra. Any comments pro or con and is this available somewhere in kit form? -Bob

Backdraft uses that set up and it works fine for me. It is very convenient. You may try to contact Reg or Frank at Backdraft or one of there dealers.
